It is important to be cautious when dealing with lotteries, especially if you did not enter one. Many lottery scams exist, where individuals are contacted and told they have won a large sum of money, but in order to claim their prize, they must first pay a fee. Legitimate lotteries do not require winners to pay fees in order to claim their prizes. It is always best to verify the legitimacy of any lottery before providing any personal or financial information. **
